If the ridicule who made it put the foot step a bit back, it would be a more characteristic seating position that would distribute the riders weight better. Then the seating would be more along the lines of a "cafe racer" style (the motorcycles front such to racing bikes but without the fairings), which is very strong at highway quickness because the wind choose some weight off your wrists.
